Mamma’s Farm

Welcome to Mamma’s Farm

Good Things Grow Here, and So Do the Animals!

Out in Otis, Oregon, there’s a little slice of country life where the vegetables grow, the fruit ripens, the chickens lay eggs, the geese have opinions, and the dogs make sure nobody feels lonely for long.

Welcome to Mamma’s Farm, home of Miss Tanya, the heart and soul of this lively little corner of Oregon.

Around here, there’s always something happening. The garden brings fresh vegetables to the table, fruit offers a taste of the season, and the chickens keep everyone supplied with eggs. The geese add their own commentary to the daily routine, while the many dogs make it clear that this is very much their place, too.

It’s the kind of farm where life follows the seasons, the animals have personalities, and there’s usually something to tend, feed, gather, or clean up. A little dirt comes with the territory, a few feathers are practically guaranteed, and the dogs are always ready to supervise.

Mamma’s Farm is about enjoying the simple pleasures of country living: growing good food, caring for animals, appreciating the land, and finding joy in the everyday business of farm life.

Miss Tanya welcomes you to her world, where the garden is growing, the chickens are clucking, the geese are honking, and the dogs are probably underfoot.

So pull up a chair, say hello to Miss Tanya, and get to know life on the farm.

Watch: Planting Irish Moss, Oregon Coast Gardening

Years ago I heard about mixing buttermilk with moss in a blender and placing it between stepping stones, with phenomenal success. After several years of organic gardening studies, I decided to redo the moss growth over my pond stone. This video shows the first step.
